General Information

KeySteel® (in-extensible) reinforced walls are high performance, mechanically stabilised earth retaining wall systems developed specifically for taller walls (highway walls), walls with heavy surcharges, piled bridge abutments and walls where loads or structures are within the “active zone” directly relying on positive mechanical connection strengths.

KeySteel® Reinforced Soil Walls

The other advantages with these systems are due to high connection strengths and high pull-out capacity of steel reinforcements, horizontal seismic loadings and impact loadings (vehicle crash barriers) are easily absorbed.

KeySteel® reinforced walls should be designed in accordance with local Australian Standards (AS4678) and/or NSW RTA Specification R57. Similar design failure modes are investigated to those carried out for geogrid reinforced walls.

Retaining Solutions has experience in design and construction of both steel and geogrid reinforced walls and both can be combined depending upon application and associated loadings.
